• Reviews order at the start of shift.
• With forklift, brings required materials in from the yard.
• Set up and adjusts saw equipment. Selects correct blade based on job scope.
• Examine lumber package and visually grade each section according to order specifications.
• Operates automated lumber mill equipment from consoles.
• Programs saw to meet the requirements of the task at hand.
• Responsible for removing lumber off outfeed roll with forklift and place in the designated area.
• Saw, trim and/or plane lumber to fill complete order. Sizes vary.
• Starts conveyor system to move lumber to and from saw.
• Monitors lumber movement to ensure cuts are made according to order specifications.
• Ensures that the yield of lumber is maximized based on its length.
• Replaces blades; band blades or saw chains.
• Sharpen saw chains.
• Clean and lubricate equipment.
• Prepares output with bands and dunnage.
• Stores final materials in yard.

• Experienced.
• Mechanical.
• Valid Forklift Certification.
• Maintain forklift according to the manufacturer recommended maintenance schedule.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for order processing and inventory control
• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
